The kitted side, take part in the full contact side of the game. Kit refers to a helmet, pads and padded pants. This is provided by the club so that players have no easier way to get involved in the game at such low cost.
The team played four games in 2016; a double-header with Knottingley Raiders, and games against Morecambe Bay Storm and DC Presidents. The game against DC ended in a fairly comfortable away victory for the Tornados on a humid day in Durham. At home to Knottingley, the team was beaten convincingly but made the trip to Knottingley to lose by only one point and lost a thrilling game at Morecambe by three points.
